SOLANUM XANTHOCARPUM
It is one of the  annual medicinal plant commonly found in India .It is a thorny creeper  spreading  on the ground ,flower is in purple color as that of brinjal and berries turns yellow when they matured .The whole plant has been used for medicinal purposes .Solanum xanthocarpum belongs to the family of Solanaceae .This plant is known in different languages like Tamil  and Malayalam kandankathiri ,kateli in Hindi ,pinnamulaka in Telugu .

   It is the most valuable herb for traditional healers in treatment over 100 common diseases alone or in combination with local and exotic herbs .This plant is used in Ayurveda the Indian system of alternative medicines  for curing many diseases  like bleeding piles ,asthma , pains , thirst ,urinary diseases and heart diseases ..According to ayurvedic medicines it is a bitter ,appetizer ,laxative ,anthelmintic  and stomachic .
