PASSION FRUIT 
The delicious and highly nutritious passion fruits are native to subtropical wild regions of south america and originated in Paraguay . It is a creeper and rises above the ground through tendrils .The leaves of this plants are trilobed ,long and deep green on the leaves tinges of red and purple also seen .Passion edulis is belongs to the family of passifloraceae .It is the shape of  round to oval  either yellow or  dark purple color at maturity with a soft to firm ,juicy interior filled with numerous seeds . 


Several distinct varieties of passion fruit which clearly differing exterior appearances exist .Now it is cultivated  commercially in tropical and sub tropical areas of worldwide countries .It is available in both fresh and tinned .It is using for preparing fruit  salads ,juices ,fresh fruit pulp ,sauce ,ice creams .cakes , mixed in cocktails ,flavoring agent and many desserts .

Passion fruits contains lots of nutrients and medicinal properties .it is rich in antioxidants ,polyphenols ,prunasin ,cyanogenic glycosides ,flavonoids ,cryptoxanthin B ,Beta carotene , dietary fiber ,folates ,protein ,vitamin A ,vitamin B 6  ,vitamin C ,vitamin K ,niacin ,riboflavin ,choline ,copper ,iron ,calcium ,magnesium ,phosphorous ,zinc ,sodium etc .
